C. Russell Davis
Russell is in his sixth year serving in this position. He is responsible for the ministry and facilities of Glisson Camp and Retreat Center, for the emerging Conference Day Camp and Leadership Ministries and for guiding the expansion of North Georgia Camp and Retreat Ministries to serve 5,000 summer campers by 2020.
He has served the local church in youth ministry, student pastor, appointed and beyond the local church capacities for almost thirty years. In his nineteen years in camping and retreat ministry, Russell has served camps in the Virginia, Oklahoma and South Carolina annual conferences prior to coming home to North Georgia. He has led and designed workshops and events for a variety of United Methodist and American Camp Association regional and national conferences, has been a visitor for the ACA for the past twelve years, and was recently elected to serve on the National Camp and Retreat Leaders Committee for the UMC.
Russell attended Georgia Southern College in Statesboro during the Erk Russell national championship years and attended seminary at the Candler School of Theology at Emory.
He is married to Rebecca who is a fundraiser and nonprofit executive. They have two children, Sam, in college, and Libby, a high school senior.
