We’re excited to share with you our amazing Board of Directors. It is through these individuals that we are able to present the best Camp Southern Ground has to offer to our campers and military veterans. We can’t thank them enough for their continued support of Camp Southern Ground.

Zac Brown, Founder and Chairman

Camp Southern Ground was founded by the GRAMMY Award-winning musician, Zac Brown. Despite all the irons in the fire, Brown nonetheless calls his foundation and camp plans his “life’s work.” “Having the camp and giving back is important for me,” he says.

Bridget Harrell

Bridget Harrell founded Velocity Solutions in 1995 and served as its Chairwoman until the sale of the company. Founded in 1995 the company serviced the transaction accounts of over 30 million consumers and business owners, Velocity Solutions is the leading provider of revenue-driving solutions for community banks and credit unions. 

Douglas D. Haynes

Doug Haynes is a managing partner at Council Advisors. He is the former President of Point72 Asset Management, L.P. Prior to joining Point72, Mr. Haynes was a Director at McKinsey & Company. Before joining McKinsey in 1992, Mr. Haynes worked for the Central Intelligence Agency and then GE’s advanced materials business, which is now part of Sabic International. 

Mike Helton

Mike Helton is the vice chairman of the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR). He replaced Bill France, jr. in November 2000 as the company's 3rd president. He became the first person outside the France family to take over the day-to-day operations of NASCAR when he was promoted from his position as vice president for competition.

Hunt James

Hunt James has been involved in the financial services industry for over 25 years, is a registered financial advisor, and has held a variety of positions at the firm started by his family, Raymond James Financial (NYSE: RJF).

Dr. Ami Klin

Dr. Ami Klin is the director of Marcus Autism Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory University School of Medicine, the largest center of clinical care for children with autism and their families, and one of only three NIH Autism Centers of Excellence. 

Rob Light

Rob Light is head of the Music Department and Managing Partner of Creative Artists Agency (CAA), the world’s leading entertainment and sports agency, with offices in Los Angeles, New York, London, Nashville, and Beijing. 

Craig Menear

Craig Menear served as CEO and president of The Home Depot from November 2014 and chairman from February 2015 until his retirement in September 2020. Prior to becoming CEO, Craig held roles spanning merchandising, supply chain, store operations, sourcing, marketing and online in his more than 20 years with the company.

Tommy Millner

Tommy Millner brings expertise in leadership, strategy, governance with deep ties to the outdoor industry and a passion for the camp’s mission. From 2009 to 2017, he has served as CEO and President of Cabela’s, North America’s largest specialty retailer of hunting, fishing and camping products.

Jonathan White, Secretary

Jonathan White is the founder of the executive search firm J. Ogden White Associates, LLC and serves select clients with their leadership needs in the areas of board search, retained executive search, succession planning, assessment and executive coaching.
